I am in the worship ministry as a rhythm and lead electric guitarist. I really enjoy being able to express myself in worship this way. I’m not a very emotional person, but my music really allows me to express myself in a way that I can’t explain. I really love it.

I also lead the web team in our web efforts where we try to design and maintain online tools that help build the body and glorify God. I have really enjoyed this team and have seen the dedication of the team members that have stuck it out through long meetings and design sessions.

I also serve as an elder in the church as well and started doing this sometime around 2006 or so. I really enjoy doing this because our board of elders is a group of men who honestly want to see God honored and glorified in our body of believers. It’s very refreshing and enjoyable to be involved with a group that doesn’t have selfish interests at heart.

I don’t know if I can point to any one person or point in my life that has been the most significant influence (other than God himself obviously). I think my life has been influenced by the people I hang around the most. I remember when I was attending Dixon High School (go class of 1986!) and my best friend during my Freshman year was a Christian who shared his faith with me. One night, I was alone sitting in my bed and I gave my life to God and He saved me. I wish I could say that my friend is still following God, but I cannot say for sure. I continue to pray for him.

I have way too many hobbies to list I think. I tend to be a jack-of-all-trades… the kind of person that learns to do things well enough, but not to an expert level. I love to play my Eric Clapton Artist Series Fender Stratocaster (love that guitar!), I love video editing and video motion graphics, oil painting, computers, and the list goes on and on…

Here’s something you may not know about me… When I was in my early twenties, my friend and I had the distinct opportunity to go on an in-air refueling trip with the ILANG (Illinois Air National Guard) where they refueled fighter jets (F-16s, F-4s and A-7 Corsair II jets). The kicker was that we were able to do this on two separate occasions!! Both times were amazing experiences!
