Children's Ministry

Leader: Paula Ebersole

The Children's Ministry at Sauk Valley Community Church exists to provide a loving, nurturing and safe environment in which children are shown that God and the Bible can be trusted to be truthful and is relevant to their lives.

Our goal is to partner with parents, family members and the church body to instill in our children a relationship with Christ with a strong Biblical worldview: to know why they believe what they believe, to know that the Gospel is based on a history that can be trusted, and to be able to defend the Christian faith...'to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you' (1 Peter 3:15).

Core Values and Beliefs:

• Children are gifts from God (Psalm 127:3-5, Mark 9:37).

• Children, like adults, are seriously flawed and in need of a Savior (Genesis. 8:21, Psalm 51:5, Proverbs 22:15a).

• Children can grow in grace and use their spiritual gifts for the glory of God and the edification of the church (2 Peter 3:18, 1 Timothy 4:12, 2 Timothy 1:6-7, 1 Corinthians 14:12, Proverbs 20:11).

• The congregation (church family) has a responsibility to fulfill its pledge to nurture and train our children in the ways of the Lord (Deuteronomy 4:9, Deuteronomy 6:5-7, Proverbs 22:6)

On Sunday morning, the Children's Ministries provide teaching at the children's level during the morning service. The preschool class (Sparks) is for ages 3-5 and the elementary class (Ignite!) is for ages 6-12. On Tuesday, our FUZE kid's club is for ages 5-12, meeting from 5-7pm beginning with supper at 5pm.
