Essentials Of Faith

“In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”      Rupertus Meldenius

We affirm:

God

God is the creator of all things and sustains all of creation in his love. This one true God has interacted with man as The Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. God created man in his own image for fellowship and desires that all people come into a relationship with him as his children through Jesus Christ.

Jesus

Jesus Christ being eternally God the Son, was born into humanity and was fully tempted in all ways common to man and yet lived a sinless life. He fully demonstrated God’s character to man by being the exact representation of The Father, infinitely perfect in love, truth, righteousness, justice, goodness, grace, and mercy.

He was crucified by man and died on the cross in order to reconcile the world to himself no longer counting our sins against us. Jesus Christ gave his life for our redemption and to initiate a new and better covenant with man. He arose from the dead after three days fully destroying the power that sin and death had over mankind. His bodily resurrection guarantees the resurrection of all who have trusting faith in him. He ascended to The Father and will return one day to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the helper Jesus promised to send. The Holy Spirit comforts, teaches and guides believers into lives bearing Spiritual fruit to empower and transform them into loving, Christ-like disciples.

The Bible

The Bible was written as God’s message to us. It was recorded by human authors who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write their unique narrative to their specific audience to reveal God’s redemptive plan for mankind.

The Church

Jesus Christ alone is the head of the Church. which consists of all those who place trusting faith in Jesus Christ. The New Testament Church has been tasked with sharing the good news of the kingdom of God and to train and build up all believers to manifest Christ and his kingdom on earth.  As the Church, we are empowered to love and serve others sacrificially, to be peacemakers in a violent world and to ascribe unsurpassable worth to all people by seeing the image of God in everyone.

Salvation

Salvation is the finished work of Jesus Christ for the eternal benefit of all people. Salvation is received solely by the grace of God through what Christ achieved. It is God’s gracious gift to all who are willing to embrace it.
